According to insiders in the film trade, the long-awaited movie Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire starring Prabhas has officially secured the Christmas week for its release in theaters. This film is set to premiere on December 22. Hombale Films’ Salaar will be competing head-to-head with Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu.

In confirmation of the news, Taran Adarsh, a film trade analyst, took to Twitter and shared, “Indeed, it’s true! This Christmas, there will be a clash between SRK’s Dunki and Prabhas’ Salaar. The exhibitors have been informed via email that #Salaar is scheduled to be released on 22nd December 2023. An official announcement by the producers, #HombaleFilms, is expected on Friday, 29th September 2023.”

Prashanth Neel is directing Salaar, which was initially planned to be released on September 28. However, recent reports suggest that the film may not be released this year at all. Manobala Vijayabalan tweeted, stating that according to the trade, the pan-India star Prabhas’ Salaar is not expected to release this year and instead aims for a 2024 release under the title Salaar Ceasefire.
Although an official statement regarding the release date of Salaar is still pending, various speculations are circulating on the internet about the delay. It is rumored that the VFX work is one of the reasons for pushing the film’s release to a later date. DUNKI
Meanwhile, the film Dunki marks the first collaboration of Shah Rukh, Rajkumar, and Taapsee. According to ANI, Vicky Kaushal and Dharmendra will also have significant roles in the film. Shah Rukh expressed his gratitude during a press event, stating, “God has been very kind to us. We had Pathaan as our starting point on Republic Day, which is an auspicious day. And on Janmashtami, we released Jawan. Now, as New Year and Christmas approach, we will release Dunki. I believe in promoting national integration. Whenever my film is released, it coincides with Eid. I am working tirelessly, even more than I have in the past 29 years.
